Source Materials
The process of creating DVD masters includes encoding from source material, which can be submitted in the following formats:

Video
  • Digital Beta  -  finished elements (edited and color-corrected)
  • Beta SP - finished elements (edited and color-corrected)
  • DVCAM* - finished elements (edited and color-corrected)
    * may require transfer to other format

Stereo Audio   
  • timecode DAT - 48.0 kHz/16 bit
  • MasterLink ML9600 CD @ 48.0/96.0/24 or 16 bit on CD-R
  • ProTools files (SDII or AIFF) - 48.0/96.0 @ 24/16 bits on CD-R, AIT-1 or -2, DVD-R, SCSI-2 HD, Firewire HD
  • WAV, AIFF, or BWF files  - 48.0/96.0 @ 24/16 bits on CD-R, AIT-1 or -2, DVD-R, SCSI-2 HD, Firewire HD
Multichannel Audio
  • DTRS (Sony PCM-800) - 48.0 kHz/16 bit
  • DTRS (Tascam DA-98HR) - 48.0 kHz/24 bit
  • MasterLink ML9600 CD @ 48.0/96.0/24 or 16 bit on CD-R
  • ProTools files (SDII or AIFF) - 48.0/96.0 @ 24/16 bits on CD-R, AIT-1 or -2, DVD-R, SCSI-2 HD, Firewire HD
  • WAV, AIFF, or BWF files  - 48.0/96.0 @ 24/16 bits on CD-R, AIT-1 or -2, DVD-R, SCSI-2 HD, Firewire HD
Graphic elements for menus
  • Photoshop files (psd) with layering to separate background elements from buttons and overlays
  •  tif/jpg version of finished menus for clarification  
  • files submitted via CD-R, DVD-R, or FTP
Note:  All project source material must be reviewed with authoring coordinator prior to session date. Information such as titles, program length, extra features, etc. is important. Include as much detail as is impossible.
